Let's start this post with a little story.
You should know that Scott and I both drink Diet Coke. My love stems from being diagnosed with diabetes at age 12 and I am not sure where Scott's love started. A few years ago Scott and I went to get some food at Iceberg. On the way we had a little discussion about Diet Coke vs. Diet Pepsi. I told him that I HATED Pepsi and he agreed. We both thought Diet Pepsi was sick and wrong. When we got to Iceberg, we ordered food and of course a Diet Coke. A few minutes into our meal, Scott asked me "Babe, how's your Diet Coke?" I replied... "Oh it's really good today!" Scott laughed and said, turn around and look at the menu. I did. The menu clearly stated PEPSI PRODUCTS served here. Great. This began my great internal debate. Can I even tell the difference between Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi? I sure thought I did, but I sure haven't been able to live this little story down. Ever.
Enter, the Taste Test.
The Neidig's are Diet Coke Lovers. In fact, if you marry in, you better like it. Lucky me. I already loved it. I had an idea about a year ago to have the Neidig Family do a Taste Test to see if we really could tell the difference. The Taste Test finally happened in February while Shan was here visiting. It was a good, good time.... I laughed pretty hard. The best part? Shan and I were the most confident... and we were the ones that failed. Anya at 2/4 and Shan at 1/4.
High Five Shan. We Rock.
Each person had two cups... 1 & 2. Brent and Ang filled each cup with the drinks being tested:
Coca-cola vs Pepsi
Coke Zero vs. Pepsi One
Caffeine Free Diet Coke vs. Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi
Diet Coke vs. Diet Pepsi
Scott of course got all 4 answers correct.
I got the Diet's right...
If you think this would be a breeze for you... you should try it for real. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. Serious.
Unless you are Emily and Alan. Not fair. 100% for both of these stinkers.
Alan doesn't even LOVE it like the rest of us do.
We all decided that we'd do this again... testing against different things.

I always say I like Diet Coke better but always enjoy my drink better when the place only carries Pepsi products.

@Sarah: Hey, we can do this taste test for anything that fits your fancy... Dr. Pepper, Mr. Pib, and the store brand. And Diet Coke is not sick.... try it, you'll like it.
I like the idea of the taste test, I just don't think I'd make it through the first taste! I am impressed that you took the initiative(?) to do a taste test, however, so kudo's there! I'll stop nockin' the diet coke now.
