Christmas: Temple Square

One of our favorite traditions of Christmas is to go to Temple Square with Jamin and Katrina!
They are such great people and friends. Not to mention, that every time we see them it's packed full of laughing and having an all around good time.

One of the best pictures of Jamin and Lucas is below...
My kids love these guys so. dang. much.

Lucas' Birthday: BFF party

Lucas turned five! I can't believe it!
This year he really really wanted to have a friend party.
Because of moving houses, changing schools, changing wards we didn't have much of a list.
So, instead of a traditional party, we decided to take Lucas' two BFF's to lunch and a movie!
I think the boys had a good time... and Lucas thought it was the coolest to have his friends for the day!

Chick-a-fila for lunch
The kids played in the play area, ate lunch, ate dunford donuts, and opened presents.
I was glad for some seating outside so we didn't look like a total circus!

Birthday boy

Not the greatest picture... but we had to document that Millie was there!

This is the best picture of the day...
Hilarious!
I think they were having fun, don't you?

Crew, Lucas, Beck

I love the present hover at birthday parties!

Scott and Millie were there for lunch, but I took the boys solo to the movie.
They did so great! The only crazy moment was when all 3 needed to use the bathroom at once.
There was a lady in there waiting in line. She thought I was CRAZY for having all these boys in the bathroom by myself! Ha!

The boys outside the theater

The three boys had a great time at the movies!
Thanks for coming Crew and Beck!
Happy Birthday Lucas!

Shooting Range

Jamin and Scott go to the shooting range occationally.
Jamin and Katrina go to the shooting range occationaly.
We have been talking about taking me to the shooting range for a few months.
Yesterday was the day.

I got instructions from Jamin... and then more detailed instructions when I told him I had never shot a gun before. Let alone shooting a shotgun at clays.
I had a good time. Let's say my arms hurt... and my shoulders are sore.
But it was fun!
I'll be anxious to go again with Katrina's new smaller gun.
{translate: won't kill my arm because it's lighter and has less kick!}

Scott was like an old pro...
Me not so much!

Thanks J and K!
Let's go again soon!

Wheeler Farm

After Lucas' Preschool Graduation we hit the farm.
It was Millie's birthday as well that day. She loves, LOVES animals... we went for the farm.
Grammy and Nana came with us...
as well as Sarah and her kids!
We had a great time.

Feeding the Ducks with Nana

Millie has NO FEAR when it comes to animals.
She just sticks her little hands through the fence to pet them.

These next two are of Crew and Lucas.
Best buddies.
These aren't the greatest of Lucas... but darling of Crew!

These two are just a little over 6 months apart and will be in the same grade in school.

Millie girl and her goats.
She wouldn't have anything to do with the camera... so we had to go with pictures on the fly.

millie wanted her picture taken...

so did Reagan.

We had a blast!
why i didn't take pictures of everyone else is a mystery. i am so lame.

The zoo

We went to the zoo last week with Sarah and her kiddos.
Our kids get along so great... we had a fun time!
It was the last hurrah before baby diederich makes her arrival.

On a side note. I got a new phone, and with that came Instagram. I have a feeling most of our life will be documented using the phone now. So... i apologize for those that follow me on Instagram... these photos will be a repeat.

Temple Square 2011

Last weekend we headed down to Temple Square to see the lights!
It was freezing, crowded, and oh so beautiful!
Christmas doesn't seem in full swing without a visit downtown.
We had a good time with a bunch of our friend at dinner... and then with Jamin and Katrina at Temple Square. I love this Christmas Tradition.

Jamin, Katrina, and Lucas

Merry Christmas to all!

Temple Square 2010

We've made this a little tradition between friends...
Temple Square at Christmastime.
I look forward to this each year... and I'm pretty sure everyone else does too. There's something about going downtown seeing that beautiful building and all of the trees illuminated with breathtaking colors that just puts me in the Christmas spirit.

Now, before I get too far... let me back up to the events leading up to the awesome sights beheld at Temple Square.

We met everyone at Gateway Mall for dinner. Rumbi's. No line. No wait. As I took Millie out of her car seat, her pants were wet. Awesome. So Millie and I went to the public bathroom. No changing station. Then we ventured back to Rumbi. Yes! A changing station. As I undressed her, I found the worst display of "blow-outs" that I have encountered when I am not on the home front. Let's just say that the socks and onesie went in the trash... and my cute little girl was left in a button up sweater (no onesie) , wet jeans, and no socks. As I approached the table, I told Scott... "We'll be making a stop at Kids GAP before we head to Temple Square". Then just as I sat down, Luke spilled the entire contents of his drink on his lap - soaking himself from the waist down to his knees. Fabulous.
Another reason to hit Kids GAP.
The silver lining: 50% off all fleece at Kids GAP!
Millie scored big with a new pink sweat suit and onesie and Luke scored with some new "comfy pants"... but not before a quick dressing change in the front window of the store for all to see. Luke in his underwear and Millie in only her diaper. Let me tell you folks... I was promoting Parenthood at it's finest that night!

On to the good stuff...

Lucas and the first glimpse of lights

Millie all snugly warm in her car seat sleeping bag and new fleece outfit!
